Klydo are building a search engine for open ended questions. They are starting by targeting product innovation in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) space. Their software analyses tens of thousands of product details using machine learning, and plugs the results into their visualisation engine which is highly intuitive and visually navigable. Nick and Wai-chuen studied at Cambridge together, and the company is a combination their different artistic and technical abilities.
Why we invested
"You can be completely open about your business with Episode 1, you really are in it together."
Nick Schweitzer and Wai- Chuen Cheung
Innovation is a core corporate capability - new products and technologies are constantly being created, and the speed of change is too great to rely only on internal resources to innovate. Whether it is to buy, to build or to partner, corporates are investing more resources in the innovation agenda - and currently their only alternative to the kind of service Klydo offers is to pay a lot of money to external consultants. We love the vision and the team - and the clear use case.
