Carina is a company builder and ex-entrepreneur, recently returned to the UK from Silicon Valley. Carina was the co-founder and CEO of HelixNano – one of the first companies to apply machine learning techniques to genetic data - with a team from MIT, backed by YCombinator and Johnson&Johnson. She has also been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Johnson&Johnson Innovation and an advisor to portfolio companies at both Kleiner Perkins and the Global Innovation Fund. In her early career, Carina was an M&A advisor at Goldman Sachs, involved in strategic deals for some of the largest technology and biotechnology companies. Carina holds a first class degree in PPE from Oxford University and is an alumna of Singularity University: Google’s futurism think-tank based in California. Carina currently sits on the curatorial committee of the Science Gallery in London and is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper.
